Read pages 4 and 5 from Time for Kids: Graphic Novel.

You will read about one of our classes favorite authors, Raina Telgemeier.

Read this article and explain how graphic novels have changed the way you started reading or how you continue to read.  Give and example of a graphic novel that you read and explain some of the characters and how they were acting throughout a section of the story.

I like The same comic Raina likes Calvin and Hobbes. I like how Calvin uses his imagination to pretend hos stuffed animal is alive (like me). He also goes on adventures with Hobbes. In one comic about him he uses his cardboard box he called "The Transform-o-thon 2000". he uses it to transform into an elephant to do his homework because elephants never forget. Then he goes to play in the mud with Hobbes. When Calvin's parents find out he is all muddy his parents get mad and start yelling at him and Calvin thinks it is because he is an elephant and he said " I'll go and change back into a human. ". Then he goes and "turns back into a human". That is what happens is the story. ;p

Great job! I like how you were able to make a connection with the author. That sounds like a funny story. Glad you enjoyed it.

How has graphic novels maybe changed the way you read books? Are graphic novels a nice switch up from a chapter book? Explain.
