Research an animal online with your child. Use whatever websites/resources you deem appropriate. Once you have read all about your animal, write a non-fiction book about it. All you need is a 1-2 blank pieces of paper folded in half like a book! Your book should have: • Title page • Picture of your animal with labels of its body parts (printed out or an illustration by you) • 3 facts about your animal – what they eat, where they live, how they move (fly, run, swim, etc).
When you’re done, read your nonfiction book to a family member and share with your teacher! If you want to find out more about your animal before writing your book, you can try these websites:
• National Geographic Kids: Animals
• NatGeoKids YouTube Channel: Animals Playlist
